NZ’s Ryman Healthcare has entered into an unconditional contract to buy 2.5 hectares in the Burwood East brickworks brownfield development (Melbourne).

They will build independent living apartments and an aged care centre, including specialist dementia care, targeting a village population of 400 residents.

Ryman states they are on target to have five villages in Melbourne by 2020. They opened their first at Wheelers Hill 20 months ago.

Their concentration of villages and their sizes is interesting.

The first three villages will eventually have 1200 residents all located within 10 km of each other, at Wheelers Hill (258 units), Brandon Park (with approximate 600 units and 3 km from Wheelers Hill) and now Burwood East with potential of 400 plus care.

Ryman Group Sales Manager, Debbie McClure, will be a speaker at our LEADER SUMMIT March 10 and 11 in Sydney. She relocated to Australia in 2013 to drive their success in this market, delivering the best sales record of any salesperson or marketer in the village sector – ever. This is the first time she spoken in public.
