After 26 years the founders of Embracia have decided to sell seven of their care facilities plus two retirement villages to another family business, McKenzie Aged Care Group.

They accepted the offer of a rumoured $100M over approaches from larger care operators.

Peter and Dawn Mackenzie (no relation to Sally and Mary Ann McKenzie of McKenzie Health) state on their website:

“We have been passionate and hard working over the last 26 years in pursuit of our goal to provide the best in aged care and retirement living.  Now we are writing with considerable sadness, to let you know of our decision to sell a large part of the Embracia business".

"The McKenzie’s have also been in aged care for many years and share many of our personal philosophies of resident care and service”.

They have retained four Embracia care facilities (some in development) for their daughter Sarah to manage.
