The QLD Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk, officially commenced the construction of 66 apartments in the new Aveo Springfield village.

Aveo bills the 20 year project as the country’s largest fully-integrated, age-friendly retirement village, requiring $1 billion in funding over its lifetime.

“We are proud to deliver Australia’s largest inter-generational retirement village….(it will) demonstrate our commitment to redefining retirement living for the seniors of today and the future through ongoing innovation and care” states Aveo CEO Geoff Grady.

Located in Springfield Central’s Health City and adjacent to the Mater Private Hospital, the full-service retirement village will offer a range of living options including independent living units, medium care healthy living units, dementia-friendly aged care, and respite facilities.

In a first for Aveo, a boutique child care centre will also be incorporated. It will also have retail, café and recreational spaces, along with a full range of professional health and wellness facilities.

Springfield is the first fully master planned city to be built in Australia since Canberra. Located 33KL south of Brisbane, it has 32,000 residents now and is projected to have 138,000 in 15 years time.
