Last month the NSW Land and Environment Court, after a battle with Ku-ring-gai Council,  approved the construction of two retirement villages in St Ives in Sydney’s north.

The $16.5 million development at 14-18 Kitchener St (pictured) is a project by HMR Developments and will feature 20 seniors’ apartments built across three buildings with basement parking and outdoor terraces.

The second development at 26 Memorial Ave will see a single-storey home demolished to make way for a $3.2 million eight-unit development backing onto the St Ives Baptist Church. The project has been put forward by Angus Rimmer, the General Manager at Avalon Beach RSL Club, and Yue Wang.
