HammondCare’s HammondGrove retirement village at Miranda in Sydney (pictured) has taken out the National Lifestyle Housing for Seniors Award for ‘Retirement Villages/Independent Living’ at the Master Builder’s Australia (MBA) Awards last week.

General Manager of Property and Capital Works, Michael Cooney said the award was further recognition for the team behind the project, which included builders Taylor Constructions and architects Bickerton Masters.

“Our approach is to encourage community connectivity for residents and so HammondGrove Miranda has been designed to integrate naturally with both the Miranda and broader Shire communities and our publicly accessible Hive Café is one very successful way this is occurring,” he said.

Southern Cross Care SA and NT was also a big winner on the night, taking out the ‘Aged Care Facilities’ award for their 80-bed Oakfield Lodge facility at Mount Barker in SA which was built by Sarah Constructions and opened in June this year.
