The new two-storey, 110-bed aged care facility and 144 independent living units will almost double in size their 20-year-old Aveo Mingarra community in Croydon, 27km east of the CBD.

The first stage will see the old 60-bed aged care facility replaced with the new facility and a second community centre added to the 14-hectare site, while the second will build another three four-storey buildings in addition to the village’s existing 155 units.

The independent living apartments will be a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom designs whilst the aged care facility will feature single, premier and superior rooms.

Other features of the village include a community centre with lounge and café, recreational areas and residents’ workshop and walking tracks.
