Video Description

One of the major challenges we face as we age is isolation, particularly in your big family home.

Distance from your neighbours, distance from transport and shops, losing contact with the outside world are real challenges for our physical and mental health.

An option is to think about moving to an apartment. Many of the challenges of the family home can be taken away plus with new technology you can be in touch with your family and support people without losing your independence.

Neighbours and building managers are close by if there is an emergency. Call buttons and movement detectors are available. You can talk to your family, your friends around the world and even your doctor on your phone, or tablet or even your TV.

Shops and transport and cafes will be close by, and you can also have your groceries and prepared meals delivered to you.

With the money left over from downsizing, you can lock and leave your apartment to stay with family, travel or even spend time in hospital if need be without worries.

Apartments allow you to escape isolation and plan the next stage of your life, to age well.
