Mildred Symons House is located in the Sutherland Shire suburb of Jannali, close to parks and waterways. A well-established home, Mildred Symons House originally opened in 1978 but has since been completely rebuilt and is now home to a friendly community of 127 residents. Situated within a peaceful residential area, it is close to shops, cafes and transport.

Constructed over three levels, person-centred care is at the forefront of this home’s design with private en suite bathrooms, care within dedicated groups, dementia-friendly spaces and respite and palliative care. Each of the floors incorporates open-plan spaces and the courtyards contain chickens, rabbits and birds for the residents to enjoy.

Common areas

• Chapel: Chapel space used for church services, concerts and special events.

• Activities / Dining room: Combined dining and activity room on each floor. Accessible bathroom with call buttons nearby.

• Lounge and sitting areas: Lounge areas have a flatscreen TV. There are various sitting areas throughout the home and a library on levels 1 and 2.

• Outdoor areas: Secure area with established gardens and shaded seating areas. Level 1 has a balcony with a shaded terrace area.

• Hairdressing salon: Fully-equipped salon. Services include a fee.

• Laundries: Residents’ personal items are laundered on site. All linen is sent to Anglicare’s central laundry facility
