Tim Nicholls MP, Neville Bell, Chairman of Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) and soon-to-be residents joined Lendlease in celebrating the stage one topping out of Bernborough Ascot - Australia’s first vertical retirement village built on a racecourse.

Following 14 months of construction to reach the physical structure’s full height, stage one features 69 apartments ranging in size from 83 to 165 square metres with internal construction and fit out due to be completed later this year.

The project which has been designed by architects Marchese & Partners will be developed over four stages under an agreement with BRC and will include 300 oversized independent living apartments and a wide range of private resort-style facilities.

Tony Randello, Managing Director of Lendlease Retirement Living, said “Bernborough Ascot is setting Australian benchmarks as the first vertical retirement living village to be built alongside a racecourse.  The exceptional location, combined with oversized apartment design and bespoke European fixtures, means that Bernborough Ascot is not just a place to live, it is a lifestyle.”

Targeting a 6 Star Green Star – Communities v1.1 certified rating Lendlease is committed to achieving sustainable solutions, such as onsite solar energy generation, embedded network and extensive vertical green walls at Bernborough Ascot.
