Following our news last week that Blue Care had bought Argyle Gardens in Bundaberg, the prominent Queensland Not For Profit has also purchased the Carlyle Gardens retirement villages in Townsville and Mackay from the receivers.

While the price hasn’t been made public, Prime Trust paid $49.5 million for Carlyle Gardens in 2007 before its collapse in 2010.

The purchase adds a total of 1,142 units to their portfolio, not counting the 427-unit Fraser Shores retirement village in Hervey Bay the provider bought last month.

With the deal due to settle in September, Blue Care are showing no signs of slowing down either, announcing plans to build a new aged care home at the Townsville Carlyle Gardens village which has a large portion of undeveloped land.

Townsville is also home to their newly completed $17.5 million aged care home at Mount Louisa.
