Wests Group Macarthur has lodged a proposal to build 75 detached, semi-detached and attached homes and three three-storey buildings, each with 30 apartments, on 6.4ha overlooking the golf course’s lake.

The Group owns the Golf Club as well as the Wests Leagues Club, Wests Tennis Club and Country Club Gledswood Hills, and its CEO Tony Mathew says that the 1.1ha of excess land was the perfect opportunity for a “senior’s living precinct” which he believes is “the best fit” for the region.

Designed by SJB Architects, the development has been intentionally designed to promote pedestrian activity with the three buildings close to a central piazza and the planned Emerald Hills shopping precinct on Raby Road a five-minute walk away. Plans also include a cafe, community hall and basement parking.

Pending approval, the project is unlikely to start construction before 2022 according to Mr Mathew.
