The Not For Profit is building 79 one-, two- and three-bedroom retirement village units and 90 aged care beds at its existing Randwick campus, 6km east of the CBD.

Designed by architects Jackson Teece, M by Montefiore promises “independent living without compromise” with services including a concierge, housekeeping & security, private shuttle bus and 24-hour support.

Located across three buildings, the site will also include a retail precinct on the ground floor of the aged care facility that will open onto a public plaza and be open to both residents and the public.

Sir Moses Montefiore Jewish Home has been a mainstay in the North Shore and Eastern Suburbs areas of Sydney for nearly 130 years, with aged care facilities in Hunters Hill, Randwick, Woollahra and Maroubra.

The high-end development clearly has appeal. Montefiore president David Freedman says they have already taken deposits on a third of the apartments, six months after launching its display suite.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2020 with the existing Moriah College Early Learning Centre re-located to their Moriah campus to accommodate the building works.
