She\u2019s already raised $1,700, helping drive the team\u2019s efforts since fundraising kicked off in early July.<\/p><p>\u201cI wanted to do something to give back to the community,\u201d she said.<\/p><p>From garage sales to generous donations from friends and family, the Murraylands community has rallied behind the cause. On Friday, 8 August, residents and staff will take part in a community walk at Victoria Park in Murray Bridge.<\/p><p>Village manager Rowena Fox said she\u2019s constantly inspired by the residents\u2019 dedication.<\/p><p>\u201cIt\u2019s pretty amazing when you think of what they\u2019re doing,\u201d she said. \u201cThey\u2019re not doing this for themselves \u2013 they\u2019re doing it to support people who need help the most. That kind of community spirit is really special.\u201d<\/p><p>Hutt St Centre provides meals, showers, medical care, housing support and more to people facing homelessness in Adelaide.
