After her husband George passed away, Del stayed involved in the village community \u2013 and even remarried at 87 in the gardens.<\/p><p>Del helped cut the ribbon on the village\u2019s newly refurbished Clubhouse, alongside her daughter Susan Irvine \u2013 who\u2019s now also a resident.<\/p><p>\u201cMum never regretted the move,\u201d Susan said. \u201cShe helped shape the community we know today. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren still visit, and we\u2019ve had so many family gatherings here. It\u2019s a place filled with love and memories.\u201d<\/p><p>The Domain has grown from just 52 villas to more than 320, and is the flagship Gold Coast village for Aveo, which operates 65 retirement communities across four states.
