More and more retirement villages play competitive sport against each other.
The greens at Living Choice Fullarton, in the inner southern suburb of Adelaide, were alive with colour, laughter, and friendly rivalry as residents gathered for the much-loved Inter-Village Lawn Bowls Competition. With perfect weather and plenty of smiles, it was a day filled with community spirit and connection.
The event was officially opened by Graham Short, who has organised the competition for the past three years. He then welcomed Darren Ward, who shared a few words before play began.
After several closely contested matches, Living Choice Co-Owner Graham Hobbs OAM took to the podium to present the prizes and announce Victoria Grove as this year’s champions. The winners took home a Bridgeport Hotel accommodation voucher and a bottle of wine, much to their delight.
As the last bowl was rolled, players and spectators gathered to enjoy a delicious spread from Pat-a-Cake and refreshing beverages. The sunshine, laughter, and good company made for a perfect afternoon, with even non-bowlers coming down to cheer on the teams and enjoy the atmosphere.
