Film finalists are Young At Heart.

The 2011 Young at Heart Film Festival finalists have been announced. The six finalists have showcased the best new short films starring seniors. Eligible films had to be Australian produced, less than 20 minutes in length and feature a lead actor over 60 years of age.

The six films will be screened on opening night of the Young At Heart festival on Thursday March 24th at 6pm at Circular Quays Dendy cinemas. Two awards will be given, the NSW Seniors Week Talent Award which recognises an outstanding performance by an actor over 60 years of age and the Audience Award which goes to Best Film. Winners will receive $1,000 in cash.

The six finalists films are:

The Telegram Man. Film by James Khehtie, staring Jack Thompson, Sigrid Thornton and Gary Sweet.

Seamstress. Film by Gracie Otto, staring Barry Otto and Julie Forsyth.

Bad Language. Film by Viron Papadopoulos, staring Chris Asimos.

Correspondence. Film by Oliver Waghorn, staring Chris Haywood.

Just Dessert. Film by Nigel Karikari, staring Wendy Hughes, Colette Manns and Stephen Leeder.

Third and Forth. Film by Alex Barnes.
