Demolition party clears the way for new Retirement Village

Thursday, 10th February was demolition day for the derelict Julia Farr building in Fisher Street, Fullarton. More than 150 residents from the surrounding area watched the 160-ton excavator, the largest in Australia bring down the building.

Living Choice has received approval to develop the site into a 189-unit retirement village. Construction should begin within 12 months.

Living Choice director Ian Tregoning was personally involved in the development approval process over the past five years. "We had many setbacks but we are confident the development will be welcomed by not only nearby residents but retirees looking for location, luxury and lifestyle. There will also be 24-hour on-site care, emergency response buttons and medical rooms for visiting practitioners."

The demolition party included a BBQ, drinks and entertainment. Living Choice ambassador John Wood arrived at the event in a yellow 1935 Ford Roadster.
