Azure Blue begins Redcliffe village construction.

Azure Blue, Blue Care's retirement living brand, has started construction on the first of six retirement villages planned for south east Queensland.

The village, located in beachside Redcliffe, half way between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, features 122 apartments of which 40% sold off the plan.
Azure Blue Redcliffe contains 100 one, two and three bedroom apartments and 22 serviced apartments which amenities including swimming pool, barbecue areas, gymnasium, receation centre, hairdresser, library, cinema and cafe.

"The majority of purchasers are aged 65 or more and are looking for an improved lifestyle where they can still age in place, close to their social networks and recreational interests." Said Fred Huckerby, director of Blue Care Retirement Living.

Allen and Margaret Evans, who were the first to reserve one of the independent living units, said "We think the location is excellent - close to hospitals, shops and services, and we'll have a view of the sea."
