Renowned TV Personality Ross Symonds Admires Village Life at Beauty Point

Ross Symonds, one of Australia's most recognized television personalities, has been charmed by the residents of Beauty Point Retirement Resort at Padstow Heights, overlooking the Georges River.

So impressed was he by the friendliness of the people he met at Beauty Point, he decided to become involved in the sales side of the village.

Ross: "After working for so many years in the competitive media world, the carefree atmosphere and true feeling of contentment really impacted on me.There is just no stress for the residents at Beauty Point and it shows."

Ross was the ABC's Senior National News Presenter for both radio and
television for 12 years. In 1981, he joined Channel Seven as their Chief News Presenter, making him one of the most recognised faces in Sydney and across Australia.

He was introduced by a friend of a friend to the owner of Beauty Point
- George Jabour - who offered to give him a tour of the village. It reminded Ross that his parents had many happy years at the Belrose Country Club village. Since retiring from television himself, Ross has taken an interest in real estate and so got to talking to George about helping him with sales at Beauty Point. Now he is stationed there Tuesday to Saturday to show people what Beauty Point has to offer.

"The location here is unique, set in bush-land and overlooking the Georges River. You get a million-dollar view for less than half the price. But even more impressive is George's commitment to the residents. Beauty Point is the only village that I'm aware of where there are qualified care staff on duty 24-hours a day, seven days a week to be on call for the residents - and there is no charge for this. It is all genuinely very impressive."
