Cessnock Masonic Village is situated on 7½ acres of land, on the fringe of the CBD. The area is very tranquil with one boundary being a lovely pond that attracts varied wildlife including swans and pelicans.
Residents are cared for in a loving and caring environment where care is always there and where person-cantered care is our focus. We celebrate many special days on the calendar by dressing up, and with displays in our dining room with the main objective being simply to have fun.
We own a specially modified bus with a wheelchair lift and the residents enjoy many fun filled outings that always finish with an ice cream at Macca’s.
Cessnock Masonic Village employs an activity officer in the Residential Care hostel five days per week, and in the dementia unit for four hours per day, seven days a week.
We offer a wide range of activities, including but not limited to: bingo, fashion parades, concerts, hoi, craft, gentle exercises, relaxation, bus trips, movies and art classes. Residents also remain involved in the community, and attend functions throughout the year.
We have a pool room at the Village with a ¾ sized pool table, used by all residents. Due to popular demand, we are also setting up a Men’s Shed within the Village.
