50 duplex self care units plus a 144 bed aged care facility titled Pacific Cape is scheduled for planning approval this week despite 29 out of 30 public submissions negative to the project.

As the development is valued at over $20 million the final decision is to be made by the Joint Regional Planning Panel rather than The Great Lakes Council who, with Invalid Care Assoc, are behind the proposal.

The local objections claim traffic will increase (see picture of busy street location), but ignores the 150 jobs it will create and the fact that existing aged care facilities are beginning to create waiting lists.
